Girls on Tops 'Merle Oberon' t-shirt, produced on the occasion of the London premiere of Michelle Williams Gamaker's film Strange Evidence at Matt's Gallery 25-29 March 2026 and the touring throughout 2026.

Strange Evidence focuses on 1930s screen star and Academy Award nominee Merle Oberon, who kept her mixed Sri Lankan, Indian and British heritage secret to protect her industry status, passing as white until her death in 1979. To transition to leading roles, Oberon falsified her past claiming that she was born in Tasmania to white parents.

Girls on Tops is a London-based company founded in 2017 that sells T-shirts celebrating women in film, aiming to champion female directors, actors, and behind-the-camera talent, with proceeds supporting female-led film projects and independent writing.
