‘Un Intruso (Uninvited, Into Chaos)’ at Manifesta 15, Barcelona and 'Amnesiac Beach Fire (MoD III)' at neugerriemschneider, Berlin
Mike Nelson has been commissioned by Manifesta 15 Barcelona Metropolitana to produce new work for this year's biennale.
Un Intruso (Uninvited, Into Chaos), will be shown in Les Tres Xemeneies (The Three Chimneys), an old hydroelectric power plant in Sant Adrià del Besòs, one of the most prominent buildings of Barcelona’s skyline.
Un Intruso (Uninvited, Into Chaos), uses the discarded construction material outside the Three Chimneys of Sant Adrià del Besòs, to explore the building's totemic picturesque nature and the manipulation of one's (singular) relationship to it.

Mike Nelson, Amnesiac Beach Fire (MoD III), 2021, will be included in the group exhibition, NowJustPassedBy, at neugerriemschneider, Berlin. NowJustPassedBy, features works by Cevdet Erek, Mario García Torres, Shilpa Gupta, Renata Lucas, Mike Nelson and Rirkrit Tiravanija, exploring divergent notions of time and its structure, revealing a multivalent capacity to mould our experience of the present.
