Juan Cruz
I don't know what I'm doing but I'm trying very hard.
1 – 15 May 2020
MattFlix presents Juan Cruz’s I don't know what I'm doing but I'm trying very hard.
First shown at Matt’s Gallery in an exhibition of the same name in September 2018, the work now comprises around 100 self-recorded video monologues created by the artist after running. Out of breath and sweating, his words are spoken in the third person referencing the artist as ‘Juan’. They report quotidian conversation between the speaker and the artist, relating Juan’s concerns about his job, his family and being an artist.

Duration: 80 digital videos, each 0:30 - 5:00
