Nina Davies Screening + Artist's Talk

Coinciding with her newly commissioned video installation and performance Precursing, we are pleased to present a screening of two previous works by Nina Davies.

Stepping Into Machine (2022, 9 mins 18 secs) and Never Let Them Know Your Next Move (2022, 10 mins 56 secs) exist in the same speculative world as Precursing. Across the three works we find explorations of how the relationship between technology and the law intersect with the moving body. Each film explores an imagined world, accessed through the lens of a fictionalised emergent dance subculture.

The screening will be introduced by Matt’s Gallery Director Robin Klassnik and followed by a Q+A with the artist and Deputy Director Tim Dixon.

Please note that the final performance of Precursing on Friday 20 October will run 5:30-6pm.
